Two die in building collapse in Bangalore

Bangalore, Oct 8 (ANI): A building collapsed in Bangalore on early Thursday morning killing two, including a child. Residents of Ulsoor region, which is one of the oldest localities in Bangalore, woke up at 1.30 am to resounding crash of the building, which was weakened due to heavy rains. Authorities rushed to the spot and two people were rescued. The collapse also brought down an adjoining house. A resident, Geeta, said that the building was more than ten years old and was expected to fall any moment. Suspected militant guide arrested in Kashmir

Poonch, Oct 09 (ANI): Police apprehended a suspected militant guide who acted as an over ground worker (OGW)on the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. The man arrested has been identified as Wali Mohammed, a 65-year-old resident of Qasba village on the Indian side of the LoC. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Poonch District, Shamsheer Hussain said that the police will only be able to ascertain the associations of Mohammed after thorough interrogation. Mohammed is said to have crossed over the LoC in 2012 and then again he crossed over to the Indian side to return to his native Qasba village. Kapilvastu, Oct 09 (ANI): India's UNICEF ambassador and versatile Bollywood actor, Aamir Khan, raised concerns on the issue of malnutrition in Nepal as he met health workers and discussed their grievances on his three-day visit to the Himalayan nation. Khan said that UNICEF was keen that he should expand his responsibility not just as a national ambassador, but for the entire region of south Asia. During his stay, Khan visited various villages in Kapilvastu district to check the functioning of health facility centres and initiated awareness on the issue. Among the villages in the Kapilvastu district, he spent an hour in Pakadi village health centre and observed how the health workers screen children with malnutrition under factors of height, weight and other measurements.
