Indian envoy reviews progress of joint projects with Bangladesh

Agartala, Oct 8 (ANI): India's Deputy High Commissioner in Dhaka, Sandeep Chakravorty reviewed the progress of a couple of collaborative projects between India and Bangladesh during his three-day visit to Tripura. Chakravorty after meeting Tripura Power Minister Manik Dey said work to supply 100 MW power from Tripura's Palatana power project to Bangladesh is progressing fast. Chakravorty, during his visit to Tripura, will find the status of various India-Bangladesh projects and meet ministers and top officials of the state to take note of the ground reality. The Indian envoy also added the Agartala-Akhaura rail link is in an advance stage of preparation. Oct 8, 2014

Indian Air Force celebrates its 82nd anniversary

Chief of Indian Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha said that the IAF's journey of 82 years has witnessed many historic moments and it has emerged as one of the most formidable and respected air forces of the world. To mark the occasion there will be air displaying of various aircrafts as a part of the Air Force Day Parade cum Investiture Ceremony at Air Force Station here. Star Miles Teller, a trained musician himself, appeared in support of the movie along with cast members, Melissa Benoist, Paul Reiser and J. K. Simmons who plays a teacher that you would have nightmares about. NEW YORK The 52nd New York Film Festival continued with the world premiere of ‘Inherent Vice’. The new Paul Thomas Anderson film, a crime drama set in the early 70’s, brought out its stars for the gala night. DA case: Jayalalithaa likely to move SC on bail plea

New Delhi, Oct 8 (ANI): Former Tamil Nadu chief minister J. Jayalalithaa and three other accused in an 18-year-old Rs. 66 crore disproportionate assets case, are likely to move the Supreme Court on Wednesday, challenging the Karnataka High Court's order to refuse bail to them. The Karnataka High Court rejected the bail pleas of the four accused on Tuesday, observing that corruption amounts to a violation of human rights. The judge quoted various cases of the Supreme Court under Prevention of Corruption Act and pronounced that there is no ground for giving bail to the accused convicts in this case. The court not only refused to grant of bail, but also declined to stay the sentence of four-year imprisonment and Rs 100 crore penalty imposed on her in the case. Oct 8, 2014

Dhule /New Delhi, Oct 8 (ANI): Janata Dal-United Chief Sharad Yadav, lashed out at the ruling BJP government for failing to deliver the promises it made before coming to power in May. Taking a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Yadav said he did not leave a single opportunity to deliver a speech. Supporting the Public Sector Undertakings (PSU), Yadav also criticised government's decision to disinvest stake in some leading PSUs. He said this decision has been wrongly-timed and the prices of the shares of these PSUs have started falling since then. Shimla, Oct 08 (ANI): Forty eight Indian pugilists from Madhya Pradesh undertook training in an 18-day high altitude boxing camp in Shimla city to get acclimatized to low weather conditions and increase their stamina. The camp started on September 22 and will conclude on October 9.He also said that the camp will make them stronger and increase their level of play. Out of the total of 48 boxers, eight are international level players and 15 are national champions.
