Govt bond yield spike temporary: P Chidambaram

Mumbai, Nov 19 (ANI): Finance Minister P Chidambaram on Tuesday said that the a recent spike in government bond yield is temporary and that the central bank could take some steps to bring the yields down should food inflation moderate. Bond yields have risen since the Reserve Bank of India raised interest rates for a second consecutive month on October 29. Chidambaram also expressed happiness on the inauguration of India's first all-women, 'Bharatiya Mahila' Bank by the Prime Minister and Congress President Sonia Gandhi.

Anna unhappy over Kejriwal publicizing his letter

Ralegan Siddhi, Nov 19 (ANI): Social activist Anna Hazare on Tuesday expressed unhappiness over Arvind Kejriwal publicizing his letter in front of media. He said that the letter was to clear on the doubts about Kejriwal using his name and issuing pamphlets and SIM cards in his name. Further, he said that he never said that Kejriwal is corrupt, but there was a doubt for sure on him using Hazare's name for his political gains.

PM, Sonia inaugurate first all-women bank

Mumbai, Nov 19 (ANI): Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday inaugurated the country's first all-women bank, the Bharatiya Mahila Bank, an initiative to empower women, with a corpus of rupees 10 billion to function as a universal bank. The announcement for this initiative was made by Indian Finance Minister, P Chidambaram during the annual budget, earlier this year. The inauguration of the bank coincided with the birth anniversary of former Indian Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi. While addressing the media persons, Sonia Gandhi said that the bank's staff should ensure coverage of the farthest and least accessible women in the country.

Dialogue will solve India's territorial disputes with China: Khurshid

New Delhi, Nov 19 (ANI): Union Foreign Minister, Salman Khurshid on Tuesday said that territorial disputes with China would be discussed through dialogue. Earlier on October 23, India and China signed agreements to ease tensions on their contested border which has seen a series of stand offs in the recent past, as they try to figure out a way to break the decades-old stalemate on overlapping claims to long stretches of the disputed border along the Himalayas. Rajnath defends Narendra Modi over snooping row

ISRO spy scandal: Former top cop accuses BJP of malicious propaganda
