Political parties should stop violating democracy: KC Tyagi

MP CM serves defamation notice to Sonia Gandhi

Bhopal, Nov 18 (ANI): Reacting on Congress's advertisement on corruption in the Shivraj Singh Chouhan family, Chauhan served a Rs 10 crore defamation notice to Congress President Sonia Gandhi and State Congress President Kanti Lal Bhuria. BJP's spokesperson Hitesh Bajpai said that the Congress has come down to level of violence and that they are jealous and scared of Chauhan and Narendra Modi.

Commonwealth countries agree to support less developed nations

Colombo, Nov 18 (ANI): As the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) came to a close, member countries agreed in unison to support small and less developed nations in the pool, which forms one-fifth of global trade. The summit took place in the island nation under the shadow of allegations of abuse by the Sri Lankan government four years after a civil war against Tamil separatists ended. President of Sri Lanka, Mahinda Rajapaksa, said that the member countries had also agreed to tap the potential of intra-Commonwealth trade and investment.

Bangalore, Nov 18 (ANI): Bharat Ratna awardee and eminent scientist CNR Rao calls politicians idiots while expressing his dissatisfaction over inadequate funding in the field of science. GoM to meet over bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh

New Delhi, Nov 18 (ANI): The Group of Ministers (GoM), which is looking after the proposed bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh will wrap up the consultation process on Monday after meeting Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and all Union ministers representing the state separately. Reddy has already stated that he will oppose the state's division before the GoM. Interacting with the reporters, Jaipal Reddy said that he and three other ministers from Telangana region would attend the meeting on Monday. After the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, the creation of Telangana would lead to the formation of India's 29th state.

India- Bangladesh agree to work against militants

Akhaurah, Nov 18 (ANI): Addressing a joint press conference Bangladesh Home Minister Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir promised to hand over any Indian militant caught hiding in its territory to India. Alamgir and his Indian counterpart Sushil Kumar Shinde met to inaugurate a multi purpose integrated checkpost along the border in Akhaura. Alamgir said Indian militant Anup Chetia, currently lodged in a jail in Bangladesh, would be extradited after the completion of judicial formalities.

Manish Tewari takes jibe at BJP over snooping row

New Delhi/ Ahmedabad/ Gujarat, Nov 18 (ANI): Starting a war of words, I and B Minister Manish Tewari took a jibe at BJP over over snooping allegations and posed questions over infringement of civil liberty. Tewari on Sunday (November 17) lashed the opposition party over alleged snooping by Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's close aide Amit Shah on a young woman in 2009. Sharpening his attack, Tewari said it was 'brazen assault on civil liberty by state sponsored stalking'. Tewari targeted Modi for misusing police machinery and monitoring the movement of a young woman by Gujarat Police in 2009.
