Smartphone leader Samsung has reportedly released budget Android smartphone Galaxy Star Advance in India.

Mumbai-based smartphone vendor Mahesh Telecom (via Twitter) has claimed that the new Galaxy Star Advance (SM- G350E) stocks have reached India and can be purchased for ₹7,299.

Though the company is yet to confirm the official launch, it is worth noting that Mahesh Telecom (Manish Khatri, proprietor) was the first to break the news on the arrival of the Galaxy S5 4G-LTE model in India. So it is safe to assume that Samsung will officially make Galaxy Star Advance's launch public soon and reveal details of the wider availability of the device.

According to the Mahesh Telecom's listing, Galaxy Star Advance sports a 4.3-inch WVGA (480x800p) TFT display and ships with the Android v4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box.

Under the hood, it packs a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 512MB RAM, 3.0-megapixel (with LED flash), 1800 mAh battery and on connectivity front, it supports 3G network, dual-SIM slots, Bluetooth v4.0, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n) and other standard features.

Going by the specifications and price tag of the Galaxy Star Advance, Samsung will have a tough time convincing price-sensitive (shrewd) Indian buyers who are now spoilt for choices, thanks to numerous feature-rich smartphones in the market which costs much less than the Samsung phone. Such handsets include popular local Micromax phones (Canvas Unite 2, Entice A105, and Engage A091), Lava (Iris X1), Xolo (Q600s), Celkon (Campus A35K), Karbonn (Titanium S99), Intex Aqua Curve Mini, MNC branded Moto E and many others.
