New Delhi, Feb 05 (ANI): The newly-appointed Home Secretary LC Goyal met Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday. Earlier in the day, Goyal replaced Anil Goswami as the new Home Secretary following a controversy over the arrest of a former union minister in connection with the Saradha chit-fund scam. Goswami was earlier on Wednesday was sacked from his post for allegedly interfering with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) over the arrest of Matang Sinh in connection with the Saradha scam. Goyal, a 1979-batch IAS officer of Kerala cadre, earlier held the charge of Secretary in the Ministry of Rural Development. Feb 5, 2015

Agartala, Feb 05 (ANI): India and Bangladesh officials signed an agreement on real-time information sharing to curb cross-border crime at the two-day district-level border conference in Tripura. A wide range of issues like smuggling, trans-border crime, insurgent movement, narcotics, human trafficking, and cattle lifting were discussed between officials of the countries. New Delhi, Feb 05 (ANI): LC Goyal has replaced Anil Goswami as the new Union Home Secretary, following a controversy over arrest of former Union Minister involved in Saradha chit fund scam. Anil Goswami, earlier on Wednesday, was sacked for allegedly interfering with the Central Bureau of Investigation over the arrest by the agency of Saradha Scam accused Matang Sinh. According to reports, Goswami had earlier in the day been summoned by the Prime Minister's Office over the issue and was invited to put forth his version.
