AVAM moves EC against AAP over 'funding scam'

New Delhi, Feb 05 (ANI): AAP Volunteers Action Manch (AVAM) on Thursday lodged a complaint with the Election Commission of India against the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) following allegations of a 'funding scam'. AVAM member informed that the it would also move to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) in the coming days. AVAM alleged that AAP had last year received Rs. 50 lakhs through four bogus companies that were fronts for money-laundering. Feb 5, 2015

Bedi on roadshow spree as high octane campaigning for Delhi polls enters last leg

New Delhi, Feb 05 (ANI): In a final push to woo voters on the last day of campaigning for the Delhi Assembly polls on Thursday, Bhartiya Janta Party's Delhi Chief Ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi is on a spree of roadshows. Bedi is scheduled to hold roadshows in Mangolpuri and will cover adjoining constituencies of Sultanpuri, Kirari, Nangloi and Mundka. She will be holding her last campaign in Krishna Nagar constituency through the afternoon till campaigning for the elections ends at 6 pm. Meanwhile, during her roadshow at Kirari constituency she came face to face with AAP supporters. As the campaigning for the Delhi Assembly elections ends this evening, BJP, Congress and Aam Aadmi Party are making all out efforts to convince people to vote for their candidates by making promises. Campaigning fever on its highest as Delhi witnesses series of roadshows by political parties

New Delhi, Feb 05 (ANI): As campaigning for the Delhi assembly polls enter its last leg, party dignitaries held roadshows in the national capital in order to woo voters on Thursday. AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal held roadshow along with his supporters as he waved the crowd from his convoy. AAP supporters were seen dancing on the trending AAP track 'paanch saal Kejriwal' as they hoped for the party's victory in the assembly polls. Kejriwal thereafter, reached Lodhi Garden with his supporters and also interacted with the residents. Meanwhile, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi, in an open pick-up truck, led a huge roadshow for his party, in a constituency it has held in north-west Delhi for over 20 years, Sultanpur Majra. New Delhi, Feb 5 (ANI): Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 32.14 points down to stand at 28,850.97. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 107.65 points up to stand at 8,831.35. PIPAVAVDOC and Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 7.00% and 6.92% along with CUB and SHREE CEMENT with an increase of 5.51% and 5.17% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include UNITECH and IOB with a decrease of 12.99% and 11.01% along with KEC and GMR INFRA with a decrease of 10.39% and 9.51% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is down 155.71 points at 19,571.90, while the banking sector is down 102.06 points at 21,813.19 and the reality sector is down 49.50 points at 1,757.69. Mumbai, Feb 5 (ANI): Bollywood legend, Amitabh Bachchan, promoted his upcoming movie, 'Shamitabh', along with the film's director, R.Balki, on Wednesday in India's entertainment capital Mumbai, just days ahead of its release. Big B and R. Balki have previously worked together in highly acclaimed films like 'Paa' and 'Cheeni Kum'. The two trailers of the film, launched last month, have generated much curiosity among moviegoers. The trailer showcases him in a rugged look with heavy beard and unkempt hairstyle. Indian actor, Dhanush, is surprisingly seen in an identical avatar in the promo. He plays the role of a deaf and mute man to whom Amitabh Bachchan lends his voice. This is his second Bollywood film. The poll panel on Wednesday night rejected Kejriwal's claim that electronic voting machines (EVMs) can be tampered to favour BJP in the Delhi Assembly polls. The EC said such allegations are "totally incorrect and unacceptable". Kejriwal had claimed on Tuesday that discrepancies were found during a check of four such machines at Delhi Cantonment area.
