Adam Scott wins WGC after six-birdie streak

Adam Scott went back-to-back, winning for the second successful week by overcoming some closing-hole drama to claim the WGC-Cadillac Championship in breezy Miami on 6 March. Scott, who won the Honda Classic on 28 February began the final round three shots behind leader Rory McIlroy and fell six strokes off the pace making two double bogeys in the first five holes. Refugee crisis: Drone footage reveals sprawling camp at Greece-Macedonia border

The number of refugees and migrants stranded on the Greece-Macedonia border continued to swell on 7 March. Drone footage showed rows and rows of tents dotted for kilometres among the vast fields at the border, along the railway tracks and station, and around the main roads. There were wins for Lucas Eguibar and Michela Moioli in snowboard cross on 6 March, in the latest FIS World Cup races in the Swiss resort of Veysonnaz. Spains Eguibar topped the podium ahead of Nick Baumgartner and Alessandro Haemmerle. Eguilbar is fourth in the overall World Cup standings on 2766 points, with Olympic champion Pierre Vaultier on top with 4640 points and already confirmed as the World Cup winner overall. Mar 7, 2016

Turkey: Police fire rubber bullets to break up Womens Day protest

Riot police forcibly broke up a rally of hundreds of women gathering in Istanbul to mark International Womens Day on 6 March. The women mounted their demonstration two days before the official Womens Day on 8 March despite a ban by the governor of Istanbul. Throngs of fleeing women could be seen running away from a police with shields firing rubber bullets into the crowd. Istanbuls governor had enacted the ban on demonstrations citing security concerns. Mexico: Rare albino whale spotted off Pacific coast

A rare, albino grey whale has been spotted off Mexicos Pacific coast. Marine biologists from the National Commission of Natural Protected Areas (CONANP) captured footage of the magnificent, white mammal swimming with her normal-coloured calf during an annual census off the coast of Baja California.
