3D reconstruction unmasks true face of Perus Lord of Sipan

Experts have digitally reconstructed the face of Perus pre-Incan Mohican warrior, the Lord of Sipan, 1,900 years after his death. A team of investigators have worked on the project to replicate the smallest details, and they have found that Lord of Sipans face shows many of the regions residents still have many of the same physical features. When his tomb was found in 1987, the discovery was hailed as one of the greatest in recent decades, and compared to Egypts King Tut. Sep 22, 2016

Six-year-old US boy offers home to Syrian child refugee in letter to President Obama

Six-year-old Alex from New York sent a letter to US President Barack Obama asking Syrian refugee Omran Daqneesh to come and live with him. Footage of the bloodied five-year-old boy emerged earlier in 2016, after he was dragged from a destroyed building in Aleppo. In his letter to the White House, Alex offers to share his bike and toys with Daqneesh, and said he would teach him addition and subtraction. A clip of Alex reading his letter has now gone viral, and has been viewed over four million times on Facebook. Sep 22, 2016

Eggheads star CJ de Mooi arrested on suspicion of murder

CJ de Mooi, known for being a panellist on BBC2 show Eggheads was arrested at Heathrow airport and is being held on suspicion of an alleged murder in Amsterdam 20 years ago. He claimed in his autobiography that he had pushed a mugger into a canal while homeless in 1988, adding I fully suspect I killed him. Sep 22, 2016

Boris Johnson: Syria conflict is a proxy war not a civil war

UK Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson said the conflict in Syria is now a proxy war instead of a civil war and called on the sponsors of the Syrian regime to bring Assad back to the negotiating table. Speaking outside the UN Security Council meeting in New York, he said there were only two possible culprits for the deadly attack on the aid convoy on September 19th; Syria or Russia, but said he was still hopeful a ceasefire could be negotiated. Prince Harry delighted a crowd of local children in Aberdeen by showing his young fans he knew how to dab. The prince show off his skills whilst on his way to an official engagement at Robert Gordon University. Dabbing is the latest viral dance move in which the dancer drops their head to their elbow and raises their arm as if they are sneezing and is thought to have originated in the Atlanta hip-hop scene. Mark Zuckerberg and wife Priscilla Chan pledge $3bn towards curing all diseases

The two founders of the Chan-Zuckerberg Initiative pledged more than $3 billion toward a plan to cure, prevent or manage all disease within our childrens lifetime. Investments will include a bioscience research centre, called the Biohub, and plans for a chip to diagnose diseases, continuous bloodstream monitoring and a map of cell types in the body. State of emergency declared in Charlotte after violent protests at police killing

A state of emergency was declared in the town of Charlotte, North Carolina, on 21 September after a man was shot and left in a serious condition during protests over the police killing of an African American. Keith Lamont Scott was shot by police and the circumstances of his death are being investigated. Riot police fired tear gas at the protesters amid skirmishes, looting and smashed windows. Pedestrians trespassing in train tunnel survive near-miss

This footage is said to have been filmed some time in July 2016 at Downhill in a coastal route in County Londonderry, but Translink have released it as part of a safety campaign. The video has been released as part of a wider campaign highlighting the dangers of trespassing on the rail network.Over 300 incidents of pedestrian trespass were recorded on Northern Ireland’s rail network between the April and August 2016, with Whiteabbey, Finaghy, Dunmurry and Antrim featuring in the list of hotspot areas.
