New Delhi, Oct 31 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday administered unity pledge on the occasion of 139th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel. Modi administered pledge to thousands of people present to participate in 'Run for Unity' at Rajpath. Modi took pledge for unity in the nation. The government had earlier announced that it would observe the birth anniversary of Patel on October 31 every year as National Unity Day as a tribute to his efforts to unite India.

PM Modi flags off 'Run for Unity' to mark Sardar Vallabhai Patel's 139th birth anniversary

New Delhi, Oct 31 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday flagged off 'Run for Unity' at Rajpath in New Delhi on the occasion of birth anniversary of independent India's first Home Minister Sardar Vallabhai Patel. Modi earlier arrived at Patel Chowk in the heart of Delhi, where he paid floral tributes to Patel on his 139th birth anniversary. Modi then administered Unity pledge to thousands of participants present at Rajpath addressing the participants of 'Run for Unity'. The government had announced that it would observe the birth anniversary of Patel on October 31 every year as National Unity Day as a tribute to his efforts to unite India. Manipur artisans work towards preserving traditional handicrafts

Manipur, Oct 31 (ANI): Forty seven years old Longjam Hemolata Devi, a weaver from Kwakeithel Mayaikoibi Chabungbam Leikai, is one of the few artisans involved in making Shaphee Lanphee- a rare traditional handicraft of Manipur embroidered with meaningful motifs. Hemolata has been working with dedication to promote the Shaphee Lanphee craft for years. To preserve the age old craft, she provides training to some local women in order to carry forward the legacy. All together 20 women are currently learning the art of Saphee Lanphee under Hemolata"s guidance. This traditional handloom product is intricately designed with different meaningful patterns. Earlier it was used as "Mana Phee" - a reward by the kings to brave soldiers as a token of honour after winning a battle. Motifs of sun, stars, fish, spear, peacock, Buffalo horn, horse, and elephant are extensively used.

A new study has shown that women, who drink two cups of tea a day, face one-third less risk of developing ovarian cancer.Compounds like tea and citrus fruits and juices contain flavonoids which are powerful compounds with strong disease-fighting properties therefore intake of foods high in flavonoids significantly lowers the risk of developing ovarian cancer. So a couple of cups of tea per day can not only bring down the stress level but also reduce the risk of developing the disease in ladies.
