New Delhi, Oct 10 (ANI): As India suffered the steepest cut in the International Monetary Fund's (IMF) revised growth forecasts for the year, BJP leader Yashwant Sinha on Thursday stated that the issue is very serious. He also called Finance Minister P Chidambaram an expert in bringing down growth rates. IMF, in its flagship World Economic Outlook report said that India will grow only 3.8% in the 2013-14 financial year against 5.6% projected in its July forecast, a cut of 1.8 percentage points. At least 14 killed and 40 injured in Hoshiarpur bus accident

Hoshiarpur, Oct 10 (ANI): At least 14 people, including seven women and three children were killed and 40 others injured as a mini bus fell into a ditch in Hoshiarpur city of Punjab. The accident occurred at 10:30 pm on Wednesday. Senior Superintendent of Police Sukhchain Singh Gill confirmed about the incident on Thursday. The passengers were returning after visiting a Hindu religious site in Himachal Pradesh. According to Gill, who reached the spot of the accident, the mini bus fell in a 100 feet deep trough after the breaks of the vehicle failed. Oct 10, 2013

Mumbai, Oct 10 (ANI): Noted Telugu film actor Srihari, who was recently seen in "Thoofan", Telugu version of "Zanjeer", passed away at Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai on Wednesday evening. The actor was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday following illness and died around 5 PM. However, the cause of his death is not known yet. Srihari, who had been suffering from a liver ailment for some time, complained of giddiness during the shooting of 'Rambo Rajkumar' being directed by Prabhu Deva with Shahid Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead. Agra, Oct 10 (ANI): This group of 64 students from Mizoram has come to Agra to improve their Hindi at the Kendriya Hindi Sansthan. The institution is an autonomous apex organization, run by the Union Ministry of Human Resource development, and it works for the development of Hindi language in the country. Established in the year 1980, it helps students from across the country hone their skills in the language. Students from the northeastern states, where Hindi isn’t widely spoken, come to the institute every year to sharpen their language skills. The 3-week-long programme is aimed at those students and teachers who already know the language, but want to improve their command over it. The institute also provides food and accommodation to the students for free. After the course, the students can find employment opportunities in various sectors like banks, teaching and government offices.
