Lucknow, Oct 09 (ANI): Rejecting the allegations of Congress vice President Rahul Gandhi, Samajwadi Party leader Naresh Agarwal on Wednesday said that people of Uttar Pradesh would never believe Rahul Gandhi or the Congress party. Talking to mediapersons in Lucknow, he said that in upcoming assembly polls and general elections, Congress will be wiped out. Third front will form a stable Government at the centre.

Bharti, Wal-Mart call off India joint venture

New Delhi, Oct 9 (ANI): World's largest retail chain Walmart Stores Inc and Sunil Mittal-led Bharti Group have called off their six-year old alliance in India and will own and operate separate businesses in the country. Wal-Mart, tied up with Bharti in 2007 and had been the most vocal proponent of prying open India's restrictive retail market to foreign supermarket operators. However, its growth in India has been hindered by still-evolving rules on foreign investment, an internal bribery probe, and, more recently, the faltering partnership with New Delhi-based Bharti. Under terms of their breakup, Wal-Mart will acquire Bharti's 50 percent stake in Bharti Wal-Mart Pvt Ltd, which runs about 20 wholesale stores in India under the Best Price Modern Wholesale brand, and will run the business independently.

Telangana Fallout: Chandrababu Naidu's fast enters 3rd day

New Delhi, Oct 9 (ANI): Supporters of the TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, protested at Andhra Bhavan in New Delhi on Wednesday (October 09), after they were not allowed to enter its premises while their leader continued his indefinite fast against the formation of Telangana. Trains cancelled in view of anti- bifurcation protests in Andhra Pradesh

Visakhapatnam, Oct 9 (ANI): Around twenty trains were cancelled as the announcement of the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh evoked violent protests, forcing the authorities to clamp a curfew in the region. Deepening the crisis, the Electricity department employees stalled work, plunging large parts of the region into darkness. As a result of the power crisis, many trains have been cancelled. A fresh round of talks failed on Wednesday between Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy and the striking power sector employees, who are reportedly not stepping back. Political analysts have observed that the move to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh, by the center ruling Congress was to shore up its political fortunes.

Veerappa Moily on save fuel mission, to travel by metro
