Nigerian envoy assures to resolve death of his countryman in Goa

New Delhi/Panaji, Nov 6 (ANI): Nigerian ambassador to India, Ndubuisi Vitus Amaku has assures that death of his country’s national in Goa is being handled and the matter will be soon resolved. The Nigerian was found dead with stab wounds in Goa's Mapusa town. The incident triggered protests by Nigerians in Goa where they blocked roads and allegedly attacked the police vehicle carrying the dead body of their fellow national with sticks on October 31. While interacting with a reporter in New Delhi Amaku said on Wednesday that the bilateral relations would be respected while resolving the matter. Nov 6, 2013

Free handicraft training provided to school drop outs in Jorhat

Jorhat, Nov 06 (ANI): These youngsters from different parts of Assam are all school dropouts, and are a part of a bamboo handicraft workshop recently held in Jorhat.The week-long training programme was organised by the Institution for Culture and Rural Development (I-CARD) at the Rain Forest Research Institute in Sootea. In total 20 people, belonging to extremely poor families participated in the skill development workshop, where they were taught to make different bamboo products. I-CARD has been consistently taking initiatives to impart vocational training to unemployed youths in the region. The Institute works with the Rights Foundation under the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT). The two-day long event, organized by ONGC Tripura, aimed at promoting tribal culture of the state. The audience was enthralled by traditional dances of tribes like Reang, Chakma, Jamatia, Kaloi, Lusai and Uchoi. Models dressed in traditional attires of their respective tribes walked the ramp.
