Traditional buffalo fight in Shimla enthralls hundreds of spectators

Shimla, Nov 11 (ANI): The traditional buffalo-fight fair captivated hundreds of villagers in Baychari village of Shimla. People gathered together to celebrate this century old buffalo fighting fair, to preserve the old traditions and religious belief of the area. This is also done to praise Hindu gods and local deities. Meanwhile, Virender Kashyap, an MP from Shimla, who was also present during the fair said that such traditions help in preserving the culture of Himachal Pradesh. The event is organized to promote tourism in the region. The fair is organized every year during the month of October-November and is attended by people from across the state as well as from outside.

Raj polls: Ashok Gehlot files nomination from Sardarpura

Sardarpura, Nov 11 (ANI): Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Monday filed his nomination papers from the Sardarpura Assembly seat ahead of the December 1 polls in the state. Gehlot was accompanied by his wife Sunita Gehlot and Jodhpur Mayor Rameshwar Dadheech and Chairman of Jodhpur Development Authority Rajendra Solanki. Later, the Chief Minister went to his constituency where he inaugurated his election office and addressed his supporters.

Four dead in Dhanbad coal mine

Dhanbad, Nov 11 (ANI): Over 10 miners got trapped on Monday at around 11.30 am at a coal mine in Nirsa in Dhanbad after its roof collapsed. Four people are feared dead. Rescue teams have rushed to the spot and operation is on to save the trapped miners. Senior Bharat Coking Coal Limited and Dhanbad district administration officials are at the spot. Dhanbad in Jharkhand is the coal capital of India with the entire region being a hub of coal mining.

Maoists kill three, set ablaze a vehicle in Bihar

Amkola, Nov 11 (ANI): Maoists killed three villagers and then set ablaze a vehicle in Amkola village in Bihar's Gaya District. The rebels swooped down on the village when the villagers where enjoying a cultural night. Villagers from the neighbouring villages were also present at the cultural event when the group of Maoists started firing indiscriminately. Hundreds of people lose their life in the violence, perpetrated by the rebels. The Maoist insurgents are estimated to number between 7000 hardcore fighters in nearly a third of India's 630 districts. While they have made few inroads into cities, they have spread into rural pockets in 20 of 28 states.

Pakistani Taliban creates havoc in Gilgit Baltistan

Gilgit, Nov 11 : Despite the death of its commander Hakimullah Mehsud in a US drone strike, the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is on a rampage in Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Kashmir.
