Specialists at the Veterinary Hospital of the Universidad del Valle de Mexico (UVM), in Mexico City, have placed the countrys first articulated prosthetic leg, printed using 3D technology in Mexico, on a dog. Yemen: Isis claims Aden suicide car bombing that kills 7

A suicide car bomb killed seven people outside Yemeni President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadis residence in the southern port city of Aden on 28 January, local officials and eyewitnesses said. Islamic State (Isis) claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement posted online. The militant group said the attack was carried out by a suicide car bomber it identified as Abu Hanifa al-Hollandi, suggesting the attacker was Dutch. The group said the attack had killed about 10 members of palace security and wounded about 20. Witnesses and local officials said seven people were killed in the bombing. Jan 29, 2016

Clockwork lion sculpture unveiled in Trafalgar Square

The four bronze lions of Londons central Trafalgar Square got a temporary addition on 28 January, with a clockwork sculpture of the animal unveiled to highlight the plight of big cats. The statue, made of clockwork mechanics, will stand in the square for just a day before being auctioned off to raise money for National Geographics Big Cats Initiative, which says it aims to halt the decline of big cats in the wild.
