Saharanpur Curfew to be relaxed after clashes, 38 arrested

Saharanpur, July 28 (ANI): Saharanpur District Magistrate Sandhya Tiwari on Monday said that the curfew will be relaxed after the clashes for particular period of time and also said that the situation is under control now. Meanwhile, SSP Rajesh Kumar Pandey said that there had been no untoward incident whatsoever during the night and that the police are on patrol continuously. New Delhi, July 27 (ANI): The protest by India's civil services aspirants' intensified on Sunday with four students sitting on a fast unto death, demanding the scrapping of some part of the new examination format, conducting of examination in regional languages, especially Hindi and postponement of the preliminary test. The protesters are planning to protest semi-naked on Sunday evening so that their message is heard loud and clear by the government. Earlier, the government told the parliament that it had asked a committee to submit its report on the issue within a week to give level-playing field to those coming from rural areas. The angry students had damaged vehicles and blocked road on Thursday (July 24) evening after the UPSC issued admit cards for the preliminary examination to be held on August 24. Earlier, in a new twist in the rape and murder case of the 32-year-old woman, forensic report has indicated that more than one person was involved in the crime. The report is contradictory to the police claims where it had ruled out gangrape with the woman. Ruling out gangrape, the police had earlier said that there was no sexual intercourse.
