AG says Congress not Eligible to Claim LoP Post, Congress reacts

New Delhi, July 26 (ANI): Attorney General (AG) Mukul Rohatgi sent his opinion on the Leader of Opposition post to the Lok Sabha Speaker and said the Congress party was not eligible for it. Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan had sought the opinion of the AG in the issue after the Congress repeatedly demanded that it be given the post. Reacting over this, Congress leader Manish Tewari on Saturday said that the Congress being the second largest political party is entitled to hold the position of Leader of opposition. Bangalore, July 26 (ANI): Biotechnology major, Biocon Ltd, reported revenue of nearly 3.5 percent and a net profit of only 10 percent for the fiscal 2014-2015. Chairperson of Biocon Ltd, Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, while addressing a news conference in Bangalore said the biopharma sales were slow this quarter as compared to the previous quarters. Shaw said ongoing crisis in Middle East might have been a major reason for reduction in revenues for the biopharma and said they are looking at other global markets to compensate for the same. Govt in WB takes measures to tackle Japanese encephalitis

Siliguri/ Howrah, July 26 (ANI): The government of West Bengal took preventive measures as three more deaths occurred due to Japanese encephalitis in the state. Three deaths were reported from North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) in Siliguri district. The disease, which is spreading slowly across other regions, has claimed more than 50 lives in West Bengal. However, NBMCH said the situation was under control. Earlier Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) spread bleaching powders, conducted fogging at the piggeries and held awareness campaigns. IAF helicopter crashes in Uttar Pradesh, 7 dead

Sitapur, July 26 (ANI): A helicopter of the Indian Air Force (IAF) crashed in Sitapur district of Uttar Pradesh killing all seven people on board, including two pilots. According to reports, the advanced landing chopper-307 was on its way to Allahabad from Bareilly when it crashed in a field in village Ahirwa in Sitapur district, around 70 Kms away from Lucknow. The pilot gave a _may-day_ (emergency) call and soon after, there was a loss of contact on radar and radio. There is no reported damage on ground. The student of eighth standard sustained severe injuries on shoulder and is suffering from high fever. Father of the teenager, Deepak Khater, said the teacher beat his son with steel scale. Meanwhile, school in-charge, Sister Hilda, said the school authorities were unaware of the incident but will suspend the teacher with immediate effect. R.S. Pura, July 26 (ANI): Eight live bombs were recovered in RS Pura area in Jammu and Kashmir. The explosives were old and recovered after villagers in the area found them and informed the bomb squad.
