New Delhi, July 25 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Friday appointed senior advocate R S Cheema as Special Public Prosecutor for trial in coal blocks allocation scam. An apex court bench headed by Chief Justice RM Lodha also approved the appointment of Additional Sessions Judge Bharat Parashar as a judge of the special CBI court that will conduct the trial in coal scam on a day-to-day basis. New Delhi, July 25 (ANI): Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 145.10 points down to stand at 26,126.75. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 40.15 points down to stand at 7,790.45. Wockhardt and Glenmark Pharma were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 9.92% and 6.60% along with Sun Pharma and Ranbaxy Lab with an increase of 4.45% and 4.20% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include JPINFRATEC and Biocon with a decrease of 7.50% and 7.12% along with Century Tex and UCO Bank with a decrease of 6.90% and 6.44% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is down 198.27 points at 15,609.56 while the banking sector is down 239.37 points 17,542.99 and the realty sector is down 52.97 points at 1,925.00. Muslims in India prepare special delicacies made of Vermicelli to serve guests on Eid. In old city of Khuldabad, women workers indulged in making traditional handmade vermicelli. A worker, Kaisaruddin, said Vermicelli making is one of the oldest and traditional works of Khuldabad, which is mainly practiced by women. Sweet vermicelli is a traditional Muslim dish which is eaten during the month of Ramadan. Ramadan is the ninth of 12 months in the Islamic calendar. The devotees on Monday gathered in large numbers to offer milk, curd, ghee, honey and holy water to Lord Shiva in wee hours of morning. Long queues of people waiting with assortment of religious offerings like joss sticks, red vermilion and flowers were seen outside the temples. The saffron-clad devotees of Lord Shiva known as Kanwaria take their foot journey to the Hindu pilgrimage places of Haridwar, Gaumukh and Gangotri in Uttarakhand to fetch holy waters of Ganges River. Raj Kumar Yadav, one among the Kanwarias said that during this month long Shravan festival, believers perform rituals and make offerings especially on Monday because it is considered auspicious for bringing peace and prosperity to every household. According to the Hindu calendar, Shravan is the fifth holy month and Shravani mela begins on Shravan Amavasya, no moon day in Shravan month and ends on Shravan purnima, full moon day in Shravan month. Doda, July 24 (ANI): Indian security forces busted a militant hideout in Kashmir_s Doda district and seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition from the area. A joint operation was launched by a branch of Indian army, Rashtriya Rifles, and state police after intelligence inputs. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Mohammed Sharif Chouhan said it was an old militant hideout which was busted.
