DCW questions Uber authorities, demands how services became operative without govt's consent

New Delhi, Dec 09 (ANI): Delhi Commission for Women on Tuesday summoned Uber cab services authorities for questioning them. The General Manager Gagan Bhatia said that he is extremely sorry for such an incident. DCW Chairperson Barkha Shukla said that Uber authorities were questioned on various aspects like the basis on which they hire a driver for cab. She said that the authorities answered that the rape accused driver was completely eligible as per the requirements of Uber. Few decades ago, EBARA Corporation installed many drainage pumps, including Shinkawa-kako Drainage Pump Station, which is undergoing renovations after 40 years. The company has installed a big impeller which can drain 40000 liter water per second. The facility has 6 pumps which makes it one of the nation's largest pump stations. Christians take out procession to mark Virgin Mary festival in Visakhapatnam

Visakhapatnam, Dec 09 (ANI): Thousands of devotees gathered for a procession in Visakhapatnam to celebrate Feast of the Immaculate Conception. The festival holds great significance for Catholics. Feast of the Immaculate Conception marks the special way in which Virgin Mary herself was conceived. Catholics believe that Mary was made immune from sin at the moment of her conception. The Feast celebrates Mary's creation by normal biological means, however god acted upon her soul, keeping her immaculate at the time of her conception. Devotees took out a procession and walked to a chapel to celebrate of the festival, which also indicates that the countdown to Christmas has begun. Uber rape case: Rajnath makes a statement in Rajya Sabha Part - 2

New Delhi, Dec 09 (ANI): Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh made a statement in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday over the Uber rape case in Delhi. He outlines the steps taken by the government in the case. Condemning the incident, Singh told Rajya Sabha that Uber cab service has been banned in the NCT of Delhi and that the Centre has advised all states and Union Territories to ban all such web-based cab booking services.He also informed the House that the cab involved in the incident was owned by the accused driver.
