1 Lakh Xiaomi Redmi 1S Units Sold-Out in 4.2 Seconds on Flipkart

The seventh iteration of Xiaomi flash sale, which kicked-off on Tuesday (14 September) afternoon got over in a few seconds on Flipkart.

The company took to social network platform –Facebook, to thank fans for their overwhelming support as 1 lakh Xiaomi Redmi 1S smartphone units got sold out in a record 4.2 seconds.

This super-fast flash sale feat is quite hard to believe for many, considering the fact that in the last week's Big Billion Day sale hosted by Flipkart, it took more than 5 hours to sell all 1.5 lakh Redmi 1S and in the previous five flash sales, which had stocks ranging from ₹40,000 to ₹60,000 – got sold out between 3.4 and 13.9 seconds.

Many tech pundits opine that the unexpected stretched Redmi 1S flash sale on 6 October has to do with Flipkart's Big Billion Day, which offered price-cuts on a similar price range phones like Android One model Spice Dream UNO, Motorola Moto E and Asus Zenfone 4 and other local branded devices. This reportedly swayed some consumers away from Redmi 1S and now, the fans have renewed their faith in Xiaomi, as the company has listened to their loyal fans by periodically raising the stocks in the inventory with every flash sale.

And going by Tuesday's flash sale, Xiaomi has its work cut out to streamline the production of Redmi 1S to satiate the tech savvy Indian youth and middle class, who aspire for affordable devices with cutting edge technology.
