Xiaomi Redmi 1S Flash Sale 2: 40,000 Units Sold out in 4.5 Seconds

As expected the Xiaomi Redmi 1S's second flash sale got over in seconds at Flipkart.

The company confirmed the news on the official Facebook page that the 40,000 Redmi 1S units got sold out in 4.5 seconds. Xiaomi thanked the fans for the overwhelming support.

However, for some fans the frustrations continued and they took to Twitter, to troll Xiaomi, which seems to have learnt no lessons from Mi3 sales. It has failed once again to gauge the proper estimation of the demand and stock the inventory accordingly.

And to think of it, the company's sale process of forcing consumers get registered to become eligible to purchase device seems pointless, since there is no guarantee that they will be able to get their hands on Redmi 1S.

Like rubbing salt on the wound for unlucky loyal Xiaomi fans, some miscreants have begun selling the Redmi 1S at online classifieds such as OLX and Quikr for prices ranging between ₹7,000 to ₹14,000.

Though the company cannot do much about the above issue, instead Xiaomi can at least take a leaf out of Motorola's Moto G (Gen 2.) sale's strategy, which continues to be available for purchase since the release of the device on 6 September.

According to reports, Motorola, anticipating huge demand, shipped close to 150,000 units to India.

For the uninitiated, feature-rich Xiaomi Redmi 1S sports a 4.7-inch IPS LCD screen with 720x1,280p resolution and comes loaded with Android v4.3 Jelly Bean OS (with custom MIUI), 1.6GHz Snapdragon CPU, 1GB RAM, 8GB inbuilt memory (expandable up to 64GB) and a 2,000 mAh battery.
