Narendra Modi has rather divided BJP: Congress on Chidambaram's statement

Ahmedabad, Oct 08 (ANI): After Finance Minister P Chidambaram gave a statement saying that BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi has united the rank and file of BJP but he is not bigger than BJP leader and former PM of India Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Congress leader Arjun Modhwadia said that Modi has rather divided his party on various lines and is the one who has conspired to kill his own party members too. Further, he said that such statements from ministers are not based on actual facts but are given without any thoughts in them.

IAF celebrates 81st anniversary

Ghaziabad, Oct 8 (ANI): A series of activities were organized as part of the 81st anniversary celebrations of the Indian Air Force on Tuesday at the Hindon air force base, on the outskirts of New Delhi. The jawans at the Indian Air Force displayed their skills and might. On the occasion, journalists representing various media houses were called for a visit to the Station for a media interaction. India confident armed forces will deal with infiltration along Kashmir border

New Delhi, Oct 8 (ANI): Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin has assured that armed forces would deal with ceasefire violations and the recent infiltration in Keran sector of Kashmir. On Monday, the Indian Army had recovered a large haul of sophisticated arms and ammunition after a search operation on the disputed border in Kashmir, following gun battles with infiltrators from Pakistan for nearly 14 days. India's military is fighting the biggest group of infiltrators to cross from Pakistan in years, as heavily-armed fighters continue to cross the Line of Control in the Keran sector and are holed up in thick forests in the area. The Army has killed nearly 20 of them in the battle that began on September 23. Meanwhile, the three services chiefs on Monday met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at his official residence 7, Race Course Road in New Delhi to brief him about the operation in Keran sector along Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir (J and K).

Residents bear brunt of anti- bifurcation protests in Andhra Pradesh

Vishakapatnam, Oct 8 (ANI): Residents in Andhra Pradesh, mainly in the five districts--Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam, East and West Godavari--coming under EPDCL are suffering as the announcement of the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh evoked violent protests, forcing the authorities to clamp a curfew in the regions. Deepening the crisis, the electricity department employees struck work, plunging large parts of the region into darkness. As a result of the power situation, many newborn babies in the hospital are unable to get the necessary immediate treatment.

BJP hits back at Finance Minister, says Congress scared of Narendra Modi

New Delhi, Oct 8 (ANI): A day after Finance Minister P Chidambaram said that it was gross exaggeration to say Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's wave was sweeping the countryside, the BJP hit back at him saying that the Congress is scared of Modi. Chidambaram while making such remarks had also conceded that Modi - BJP's prime ministerial candidate - has united the rank and file of BJP but he is not bigger than BJP leader and former PM of India Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
