Justice A K Ganguly resigns as chairman of WBHRC

Kolkata / New Delhi, Jan 07 (ANI): Former Supreme Court judge, Justice AK Ganguly, who has been accused of sexual assault by a law intern, resigned from the West Bengal Human Rights Commission (WBHRC). Commenting on the resignation of Ganguly, Additional solicitor general, Indira Jaisingh said that the decision, in her opinion, was wise. Former Attorney General, Soli Sorabjee blamed the media of being unfair to Ganguly but said that the decision nevertheless was a wise one. Meanwhile, Congress Spokesperson Meem Afzal also lauded the decision. New Delhi, Jan 07 (ANI): In a shocking incident of negligence by a private hospital in Delhi, the body of a new-born girl child was thrown into the garbage dump after she died of some infection. The infant died of complications at 1:30 am on Monday. The family had paid the hospital Rs. 1,500 to keep her body in the mortuary overnight, but it was missing the next morning. As the baby’s father, Vijay Kumar headed towards the mortuary to collect his baby’s body, a hospital staff came running after them and climbed into a garbage truck parked in the hospital’s vicinity and handed them the body. He said that he wants strict action to be taken against the hospital. Speaking about the issue, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that he will not spare the people behind this negligence. New Delhi, Jan 07 (ANI): The Delhi government headed by Arvind Kejriwal suspended 3 officials of the Delhi Jal Board and transferred around 800 others in a massive reshuffle aimed at improving efficiency and delivery. Chief water analyst Vinod Kumar, patwari Sunil Kumar and meter reader Atul Prakash were suspended following orders by Kejriwal. Education and PWD Minister Manish Sisodia said that the trio was seeking money to clear use of water for building construction and meter reading, as showed in a TV sting operation.
