Samsung Galaxy Core Lite Mid-range Smartphone with 4G-LTE Support Launched

Smartphone leader, Samsung has unveiled an affordable 4G-LTE handset dubbed as Galaxy Core Lite in Taiwan.

The new Samsung smartphone is said to be a variant of Galaxy Core (May) series - Core Advance (December), Core Plus (November) launched in 2013. It comes with upgraded specifications in terms of CPU, fast network connectivity, but on the downside, it lacks a front camera and runs on the old Android v4.3 Jelly Bean OS.

Galaxy Core Lite sports a 4.7-inch WVGA (800x480p) TFT screen, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 400 series quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB inbuilt memory which can expand up to 64GB via microSD card.

Other notable specifications include 5.0-megapixel camera (with LED flash, Auto-focus), 2,000 mAh battery and in connectivity front, it features 4G-LTE network support, Bluetooth v4.0 and Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n).

Company is reported to make Samsung Galaxy Core Lite available initially in Taiwan for 7,988 TWD (around ₹15,800), but there is no official word whether the device will be available in other markets.

In related news, Samsung is hosting GALAXY PREMIERE 2014 at the Madison Square Garden, New York City, USA, on 12 June, 7:00 PM EDT (04:30 AM IST, 13 June). The event is expected to witness the launch of premium top-end slate series 'Galaxy Tablet S'.

The upcoming Galaxy Tab S is said to boast of super AMOLED display with a staggering 2560 x 1600p resolutions and house Android's latest KitKat OS powered by the company's in-house built Exynos 5420 series Octa-core processor. It will be aptly supported by Mali-T628 graphics engine, 3GB RAM and 32GB inbuilt memory.

The Samsung tablet are also expected to boast of finger-print sensor (most probably on the home button), Ultra power saving battery mode, download booster all seen inside the company's marquee phone Galaxy S5 and house two-cameras - a 8.0-megapixel primary camera on the rear side and 2.0-megapixel camera on the front side.
