Samsung Announces Mid-Range Smartphone Galaxy Core Advance

South Korean electronics giant Samsung has announced a new mid-range smartphone called Galaxy Core Advance.

With launch of Galaxy Core Advance, Samsung has expanded its Galaxy Core series to three. It had previously launched Galaxy Core in May and another handset Galaxy Core Plus last month.

As predicted, Samsung has incorporated a bigger display and a new exterior design with 'Soft Feel' coated back-cover to the new phone. It sports a 4.7-inch WVGA (480x800p) TFT display and runs on the Android v4.2 Jelly Bean OS out-of-the-box.

Under-the-hood, Galaxy Core Advance packs a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB inbuilt memory (expandable to 64GB) and a 2000 mAh battery.

In terms of camera specifications, the Galaxy Core Advance comes equipped with a 5.0-megapixel camera on the rear side and a 0.3-megapixel VGA secondary camera for video chat. To further enhance the photography experience, Samsung said the phone features Sound & Shot (seen in Galaxy S4, Note 3) and a voice-guided camera feature wherein the user can communicate to a phone by checking out the number of faces detected and their locations. It also has light sensing technology to perceive the direction of light and brightness.

Samsung has also incorporated special features for disabled and visually impaired users. The phone boasts of TTS (Text-to-Speech) translator and optical scan feature which can automatically sense text in a photo and read it aloud.

The phone is available in deep blue and pearl white colour variants and is expected to hit markets in early 2014. The price details of Galaxy Core Advance are still under wraps.
