World smartphone leader Samsung has released a teaser video to kick start the countdown for the company's upcoming 'Galaxy Premiere 2014' event.
A few days ago, Samsung had officially announced that the company would host an event at New York City on 12 June, and had also hinted the theme of the occasion would be centered on a new slate, which many believe as the rumored Galaxy Tablet S. And now, the company's new video trailer has given a sneak peek of the upcoming device.
In the 32-second clip, we can see the tablet is flaunting a metal frame (probably a chromium based alloy seen on high-end Galaxy smartphones), swinging like clock hand, kick-starting five-second countdown and finally appearing in its full form - a big rectangular tablet with curved edges. If we closely observe the device, we can see that there is only one physical home button, which is reported to house a fingerprint sensor.
Though the video does not give away much on the device's specifications, it does promise that tablet is a top-end model. Earlier in the week, prolific tipster @evleaks had also posted the purported pictures of the Galaxy Tablet S. It was shown flaunting the dimpled perforated surface with square-shaped camera module, paired with LED flash on the top centre, seemingly inspired from Galaxy S5's back-cover but it could not be ascertained to know, whether the tablet will have water-and-dust resistant certifications, like Samsung's flagship smartphone.
Word on the street is that Samsung will announce Galaxy Tablet in sizes 10.5-inch, 8.4-inch and also a monster 13.3-inch model as well. All devices are expected to boast a super AMOLED display with 2560x1600p resolution and ship with Android's latest KitKat OS, powered by the company's in-house built Exynos 5420 series Octa-core processor. It will be aptly supported by Mali-T628 graphics engine, 3GB RAM and 32GB inbuilt memory, reported SamMobile.
The Samsung tablet is also expected to boast a fingerprint sensor (most likely on the home button), Ultra power-saving battery mode, download booster seen inside Galaxy S5 and house two cameras - one an 8.0-megapixel primary camera on the rear side and a 2.0-megapixel camera on the front side.
Samsung 'Galaxy Premiere 2014' is slated to take place at the Madison Square Garden, New York City, USA at 7:00pm EDT, 12 June (04:30am IST, 13 June). The company will also be streaming the webcast of the event on the official website.
