Police tighten security near Taj Mahal after US warns of militant threat

Agra, Jan 17 (ANI): Security has been tightened in and around Taj Mahal in Agra ahead of US President Barack Obama's visit. The US president will arrive in New Delhi on January 25 and hold discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who visited Washington in September. An official agenda has not been released. According to media reports, Obama is likely to visit Taj Mahal. Senior police officials said they were taking no chances with security after an alert from US intelligence that militants operating from Pakistan could target the Agra-Delhi Yamuna expressway. New Delhi, Jan 17 (ANI): Aviation Expert Harshvardhan on Saturday called fight between Air India pilot and an aircraft engineer inside the cockpit as 'shameful'. Air India flight was delayed by more than two hours after the two employees had a difference of opinion which ended up in a fight inside the cockpit on Saturday. The pilot and the engineer are injured. The aircraft is an A319, which is a relatively new plane. The aviation expert said that this reflects their character and that immediate action should be taken in the matter. New Delhi, Jan 17 (ANI): The government has accepted the resignation of Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) chairperson Leela Samson. Samson had resigned following the clearance given by Film Certification Appellate Tribunal (FCAT) to Dera Sachcha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh's film, 'Messenger of God'. She had alleged interference, coercion and corruption of panel members and officers of the Board who are appointed by the Information and Broadcasting Ministry.
