New Delhi, Feb 09 (ANI): With the exit polls for the Delhi legislative assembly elections painting a grim picture for the Congress, the party's chief ministerial candidate Ajay Maken on Monday stated that he was ready to take full responsibility if the predictions of a massive loss for the grand old party were to come true. Maken further said that the exit polls seemed to indicate that the people of the national capital wanted to give another chance to Arvind Kejriwal, around a year after the Aam Aadmi chief stepped down after serving as the Delhi chief minister for 49 days. The exit polls have predicted the second place for the Bharatiya Janata Party while the Congress has been placed at a distant third. A voter turnout of 67.08 percent was recorded in the polling for the 70-member Delhi Assembly. A total of 673 candidates are in the fray this time. Feb 9, 2015

New Delhi, Feb 09 (ANI): Political parties on Monday react as exit polls suggest clear majority for AAP in Delhi Assembly elections. Most of the exit polls say AAP will have clear majority against BJP, a day before the announcement of the results. AAP leader Yogendra Yadav said that the party will wait for the results and not go by the exit polls. However, he also said that the exit polls have downplayed AAP's performance and that the party will gain more number of seats. Congress leader Manish Tewari accepted the exit polls and said that Congress' votes in Delhi have been diverted to AAP. BJP leader Srikant Sharma said that the exit polls are not accurate always and that the party is confident of making government in the national capital. Srinagar, Feb 09 (ANI): Kashmiri separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani on Monday called for complete shutdown in Kashmir to observe death anniversary of Mohammad Afzal Guru, who was executed for masterminding militant attack on Parliament in New Delhi. All the shops remained closed and traffic was off the roads in Srinagar as well as other parts of the valley. The normal business was affected due to the non availability of traffic. Meanwhile, the state government imposed a curfew across Srinagar to prevent protest rallies on the day. Security forces anticipating unrest have imposed curfew in Srinagar and ordered people off the streets. Police officers and paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) have stepped up surveillance across the city. A similar example is seen at the Shrine of Ejmail in Rajouri of Jammu and Kashmir, where devotees pay obeisance to saint and seek his blessings. Thronging the shrine in thousands, the devotees hold the day-and-night-long prayers to pay homage to the saint, besides asking for fulfillment of their wishes. Guwahati, Feb 09 (ANI): Motorcyclists rode through streets of Guwahati in Assam to create awareness about endangered one-horned rhinoceros, typical to the region in the country. The bike rally, organised by Royal Enfield and a club Rhino Riders, saw participation of 50 enthusiasts who wore T-shirts with messages, 'Rhinos will live', and waved flags. A participant from Rhino Riders, Siddhartha Bhattacharya, said that it was important for citizens to know about the rampant killings of the animal.
