JD (U) suspends seven pro-Manjhi ministers

New Delhi, Feb 17 (ANI): JD (U) on Tuesday suspended seven pro-Manjhi ministers from party leadership. Party Chief Sharad Yadav said that when he was told about the ministers he took immediate action on problems faced due to the leaders. Yadav added that he assessed the situation and took immediate action by moving court. He also said that Jitan Ram Manjhi does not have majority in the house and added that the Governor should have been quick in taking the decision over Bihar politics. Meanwhile, President of JD (U) unit in Bihar, Basistha Narayan Singh said that the ministers did not resign from their post even after being directed to do so by the party, which is why they were suspended. Lahore, Feb 17 (ANI): At least seven people died on Tuesday (February 17) in a large explosion and gunfire at a regional police headquarters in Pakistan's city of Lahore, police said. The explosion came from a car near the police building, said spokeswoman Nabeela Ghazanfar, adding it was unclear if the attack involved a suicide bomber. She said three people were dead but a police officer said at least seven had died, citing colleagues in the area. It was unclear how many of the dead were police. An unidentified policeman at the scene said it looked like a suicide attack. The blast was followed by rapid gunfire, witnesses said.
