Encephalitis threat looms over Assam

Guwahati, July 21 (ANI): Encephalitis syndrome threat looms large over in Assam, while experts have sounded alert due to significant rise in number of cases reported that have been tested positive. The deadly disease is gradually taking a toll in Guwahati city since the month of June and has resulted in death of four people so far. The deceased includes two adults and two children who were undergoing treatment in the Guwahati Medical College Hospital. Principal of Guwahati Medical College Hospital, Ramen Talukdar said that the patients suffering from the Japanese Encephalitis have been kept under strict observation in the hospital. Patients admitted in the hospital belong to the surrounding districts like Nalbari, Darrang and Goalpara. Around 22 districts of Assam are Encephalitis affected. Jul 21, 2014

New Delhi, July 21 (ANI): Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Monday met the top brass of the Income Tax department and Central Board of Direct Taxes and discussed all issues related to tax collection. Jaitley inaugurated the two-day annual conference of principal chief commissioners, principal director generals, chief commissioners and director generals of income tax in New Delhi. This is the 30th Annual Conference of heads of the Income Tax Department. The major focus during the two-day conference would be on the accountability of assessing officers, non-filers monitoring system, data warehousing and business intelligence, role of directorate of I and CI in changing scenario, search, seizure and surveys -study of effectiveness among others. ABVP protests outside Bangalore School over 6-year old girl___s rape

Bangalore, July 21 (ANI): BJP___s youth wing, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), staged a protest outside the Vibgyor School in Bangalore where a six-year-old girl was allegedly raped by the school staff. The protesters broke the barricades and a scuffle between the protesters and police officials ensued. Meanwhile, Police also baton charged the protestors.
