Tea workers in Tripura imparted skill development training to boost production

Tripura, July 19 (ANI): The northeast region is one of the main producers of tea in the country. In order to give a boost to the tea industry in Tripura, a training scheme for skill development of the tea workers was launched recently. Implemented by the National Skill Development Corporation through its various training partners, it aims to provide scientific knowledge to the traditional tea growers as well as to those interested in joining this sector. The one-month long training programme imparts skills on various aspects of growing tea, including the preparation of nurseries, choosing saplings, use of fertilizers and maximizing the yield. Upon completing the training, the trainees will be awarded with a certificate from the government and National Skill Development Corporation, along with a monetary reward. The scheme is a part of Standard Training Assessment and Rewards (STAR) and was launched by the government last year to encourage people to acquire skills for different job roles. The programme is expected to benefit over 10000 small tea growers of the state. Jul 19, 2014

Women football academy in Manipur hones the skill of budding players

Manipur, July 19 (ANI): These young girls are sweating out at the Women Football Academy in Kakching to realize their dreams of representing India at the international platform. Established in 2003, the academy is run by Y Satya Singh and has produced several good players since its inception. The academy has a well equipped teaching team including several coaches, physical trainers and doctors. The girls are being given rigorous training under chief coach Ksh. Ibomcha and coaches Khetrimayum Birbal Singh and Moirangthem Nilo Singh. The academy, which has trained over 200 players, including 6 international and 20 national players till now, has some 32 trainees enrolled at present. The academy has won several tournaments including U-15 championship in Kakching, the Nehru Yuva Kendra Football tourbament in Thoubal and the 1st Subroto Mukherjee Cup U-17 championship in 2012. The academy that currently runs at the DSA Kakching playground is looking forward to have its own playing area. Jul 19, 2014

Nalli Nihari Gosht Ingredients Lamb Shanks Clarified butter (Ghee) - 2 tbsp Ginger & garlic paste - 1 tsp Chilli powder - 1 tsp Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp Salt to taste Red chilli paste - 1/2 tsp Brown Onion paste - 1 tsp Cashew nut paste - 1 tsp Spice Potli Black Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp Mutton Stock Cardamom, Clove, Star Anise, Cinnamon stick, Bay leaf Gram flour - 1 tbsp Method : 1. Add ghee in a pan. 2. Once the ghee is hot, add ginger-garlic paste and saute it. 3. Then, add the lamb shanks, chili powder, coriander powder, salt, red chili paste, brown onion paste, cashew nut paste, spice potli and black pepper. Mix it well. 4. Add mutton stock, cardamom, clove, star anise, cinnamon stick, bay leaf and simmer it for sometime. 5. In another pan, add some ghee, gram flour, mutton stock. 6. Once the gram flour mixture is thickened, add it to the mutton. 7. Once the sauce starts thicken, lower the flame and close the mutton with a lid. 8. After the mutton is simmered for an hour, you will see the bone is coming out of the meat. So this is how you check whether the mutton is cooked or not. 9. Garnish it with some Rogan. Protests erupt over rape of six-year-old girl in Bangalore

Bangalore /New Delhi, July 18 (ANI): Members of a student organisation and BJP on Friday protested against the rape of a six-year-old girl by two staff members in her school in Bangalore.The crime took place on July 02 in the school campus during class hours and the child is now receiving treatment in hospital. Members of student organisation Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) gathered outside the school and staged a protest, accusing the school authority of inaction. They said the government should step up their efforts and address the issue with utmost urgency. The girl was allegedly raped by a security guard and a gym teacher. Meanwhile, BJP leaders also protested outside the assembly against the ruling Congress government for its failure to take steps. New Delhi, July 18 (ANI): Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 80.40 points up to stand at 25,641.56. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 23.45 points up to stand at 7,663.90. Exide Industries ltd. and Muthoot Finance Ltd. were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 4.07% and 3.76% along with Shriram City Union Finance Ltd. and Karnataka Bank with an increase of 3.15% and 3.12% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include Indian Hotels and GMR Infra with a decrease of 6.96% and 4.01% along with REC and Financial Tech with a decrease of 3.64% and 3.62% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is down 3.08 points at 15,713.19 while the banking sector is up 134.21 points at 17,611.71 and the realty sector is down 17.55 points at 1,981.36. The workers, who were in prison for over a year, finally heaved a sigh of relief and joy after they were brought back to their families.
