Congress workers stage unique protest against inflation in Bhopal

Bhopal, Aug 10 (ANI): Congress party members held protest against skyrocketing prices of food and essential commodities in Bhopal city of Madhya Pradesh on Sunday. Party leader Sangita Sharma tied rakhis on the wrists of the male protesters. She said that every year on Rakshabandhan, sisters want to tie the most expensive rakhis on their brothers' wrists, and therefore she chose rakhis made of pricey vegetables. Raksha Bandhan is celebrated to symbolise the strong bond between the brothers and sisters and the love and affection shared between them and the Congress party workers staged a unique protest to bring light to severe inflation on the occasion. At least 38 people died in plane crash in Iran

Tehran, Aug 10 (ANI): An Iranian passenger plane crashed on Sunday while taking off from an airport near the capital Tehran, killing at least 38 people onboard. According to state media, an Iran-140 Sepahan Air passenger plane bound for Tabas in northeast Iran with 48 passengers and crew on board crashed on a road near Tehran's Mehrabad airport. Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) said that eight or nine had survived and quoted a doctor as saying that one of the injured had regained consciousness. Bangalore/ New Delhi, Aug 10 (ANI): The anti-graft wing of the Delhi government has filed an affidavit in the high court saying it has jurisdiction to lodge a report against Reliance Industries and former petroleum minister M Veerappa Moily, in the gas pricing issue. Moily said that the matter is in the court and it would be taken care of by the court. Congress and NCP also said that the High Court will have final say in the matter. Meanwhile, AAP accused the former UPA government and said that the agency was right in filing affidavit in the case.
