Shankpal temple in Ramban attracts devotees from all religion

JandK, Aug 26 (ANI): Besides natural beauty, the state of Jammu and Kashmir is known for religious tolerance between different communities. A land of religious diversity, the state, from centuries, has witnessed people celebrating, participating and offering services in each other's fairs and festivals. This ethos comes alive during the annual fair at Shankpal Temple in Ramban district of Jammu. The temple attracts devotees belonging to different communities in large number from across the region. Every year people offer prayers and perform various rituals with utmost devotion and faith. New Delhi, August 26 (ANI): Leonardo DiCaprio recently narrated a documentary ' Carbon' that focused on climate change and the impact of carbon emissions. In the 8-minute environmental project, he said that humans, who were responsible for the climate change, should put "a price on carbon" now so that the fossil fuel industry won't be able to make billions at their collective expense, a leading magazine reported. A womens rights group expresses solidarity with victim of love jihad in Jharkhand, demand arrest

Ranchi, Aug 25 (ANI): Members of ‘Nari Sena’, a women's rights group in Jharkhand, on Monday expressed solidarity with the national level shooter, Tara Sahdev, the alleged victim of a ‘love jihad’ demanding the arrest of the accused. ‘Love jihad’ refers to Hindu girls being allegedly converted to Islam after a love marriage. Jharkhand-born sportsperson, Tara Sahdev had reportedly married a certain Ranjit Kumar Kohli in June, who she alleges concealed his true identity as his real name is Rakibul Hasab. The torture began on the first night of her marriage when Kohli forced her to convert to Islam. She also said that she was kept in captivity for a month and was not allowed to eat properly. She, allegedly, was bitten by dogs as punishment for refusing to convert. Meanwhile, giving it a communal colour, a sister organisation of the ruling BJP, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), called for a shutdown and rampaged across the city protesting against the alleged ‘love jihad’. New Delhi, August 25 (ANI): Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 17.47 points up to stand at 26,437.02. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 6.90 points down to stand at 7,906.30. EMAMI LTD. and MAX were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 6.27% and 4.47% along with INDIAN HOTELS CO.LTD. and TTKPRESTIGE with an increase of 3.07% and 2.77% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include JINDAL STEEL and POWER LTD. and HINDALCO with a decrease of 15.14% and 9.91% along with NATIONALUM and TATASTEEL with a decrease of 6.89% and 5.20% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is up 59.51 points at 17,093.78 while the banking sector is down 161.80 points at 17,950.03 and the reality sector is down 36.62 points at 1,785.85. Britain Deputy PM Nick Clegg meets PM Narendra Modi and Jaitley on his 3-days India visit

New Delhi, Aug 25 (ANI): Britain's Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi on Monday. Poonch, Aug 25 (ANI): Senior Army officers expressed confidence that the soldiers posted in forward areas along the India Pakistan border in Kashmir are well trained to foil any attempts by Pakistan to pump in infiltrators across the Line of Control.
