New Delhi, Sep 12 (ANI): Reactions poured in as Election Commission ordered the chief election officer of Uttar Pradesh to file an FIR against BJP leader Yogi Adityanath for his alleged hate speech while campaigning for UP by polls. NCP leader Majid Memon said that anybody who commits breach of order has to face legal action. NCP leader Tariq Anwar, condemning Yogi Adityanath for his hate speech, said that EC should take this issue seriously. Meanwhile, BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that the party will reply to the EC's notice and further slammed the UP government for its cheap politics. Sep 12, 2014

UNICEF report says 49% of girls in India sexually abused, Politicos react

New Delhi, Sep 12 (ANI): Reactions flowed in as UNICEF report said that 49% of girls in India under the age of 19 are sexually abused. BJP leader Sambit Patra said that until we don't give respect to women in our country, development is not possible. NCP leaders Tariq Anwar and Majid Memon said that the issue needs to be taken in cognizance by all concerns and we must act so that such things don't take place again. However, NCP leader Naresh Agarwal said that UNICEF should also come out with reports of other countries and not only talk of India. Ranjit Sinha submits affidavit in 2G case trial to SC

New Delhi, Sep 12 (ANI): CBI director Ranjit Sinha on Friday filed his affidavit in the Supreme Court in respect of the accusations against him over the controversial visitors' logbook at his Delhi residence. Sinha's lawyer Vikas Singh said that he has placed the affidavit in a sealed cover before a bench led by Justice HL Dattu. The matter will be heard by the court on Monday next. It had earlier asked Sinha to reply to the plea moved for removing him from the 2G probe. Singh also alleged that the entire application filed by Prashant Bhushan is completely malicious and false. He also said that if the court feels that it can share the report with other after reading the same, they have no objection in the same. Sep 12, 2014

New Delhi, Sep 12 (ANI): Political leaders on Friday react as Former CAG Vinod Rai alleged that former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh could have easily prevented 2G scam, coal blocks allocation scam and the Commonwealth Games scam, had he used his stamp of authority. BJP leader Sambit Patra supported Rai and said that Manmohan Singh could not do anything as he was a puppet in the hands of 'unnamed puppeteers'. Congress leader PC Chacko said that the former PM had no knowledge of the irregularities then and that Rai should think before pointing at one of the most honest man in India. NCP leader Majid Memon questioned on the timing of Rai's revelations. JD (U) leader Ali Anwar said that Vinod Rai is talking like a politician and that there seems an involvement of his vested interest in the same. New Delhi, Sep 12 (ANI): The writ petition by former Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan in paid news case has been allowed by Delhi High Court on Friday. The complainant's lawyer said that the Court has allowed Chavan's petition and added that being the complainant they want to see the directions and conditions given by him to the Court under which his petition has been allowed. Nithari Case: SC stays Surinder Koli's execution till October 29

New Delhi, Sep 12 (ANI): In a breakthrough in the Nithari murder case, the Supreme Court has stayed the execution of main accused Surinder Koli on Friday. The lawyer said that the Court has given the next date of hearing as October 28 and execution has been stayed till October 29 on grounds of unavailability of documents. Koli was convicted of cannibalism and unnatural sex with children in the henious Nithari murder case. He had confessed of having sex with his dead victims and also eating some of their body parts. Puri, Sep 12 (ANI): Sand artist Sudarshan Pattnaik salutes the Army, who are engaged in mammoth rescue and relief operations in flood ravaged Kashmir, through sand. Pattnaik has created a 6 feet high sand sculpture where he shows how the army is rescuing the people in Jammu and Kashmir. He has used about 5 tonne of sand and it took him nearly 4 hours to complete. Both the Indian and Pakistan sides of the disputed Himalayan region have been hit by extensive flooding in recent days, and about 450 people have been killed, with Indian Kashmir's main city of Srinagar particularly hard hit. Second FIR filed against Yogi Adityanath for violating poll code

Noida, Sep 12 (ANI): Noida police lodged a second FIR against BJP MLA Yogi Adityanath for his alleged hate speech, within 24 hours of the first one. While the first one was filed in Lucknow, the second was filed in Noida following the orders by the Elections Commission. Noida Deputy SP Shivram Yadav said that a case has been registered under Sec 153A, 295A, 505 IPC and 125 of the Representation of People Act. The Election Commission had on Thursday "reprimanded" the BJP MP for violating the Model Code of Conduct and asked the Uttar Pradesh chief electoral officer (CEO) to ensure that an FIR is lodged against him. Schools in Jammu reopen after flood water recedes in JandK

Jammu, Sep 12 (ANI): Educational institutions in the Jammu division, except those serving as relief camps for flood-affected people, reopens on Friday as the level of flood water receded in flood ravaged Jammu and Kashmir. The Divisional Commissioner sent a circular asking the Jammu division to open all educational institutions. Earlier on Thursday, India Air force officials conducted aerial survey of devastated Jammu region to assess the damage. Indian Air Force official, Prashant Patange, said more than 70 aircrafts were flying over the flood-hit areas to provide relief and pull out stranded people. Meanwhile, the 300-km-long Jammu-Srinagar National Highway was closed for traffic due to landslides at various places in Ramban district of the state. Srinagar, Sep 12 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent Minister of state for Personnel, Jitendra Singh to take stock of the situation as rescue work gains momentum in flooded Kashmir after waters have started receding, giving rescue teams a chance to reach tens of thousands of villagers stranded by the heaviest rainfall in half a century. Singh visited the region a day after Modi directed the home ministry to provide full assistance to Jammu and Kashmir government and coordinate in rescue and relief operations being carried out in the flood-hit state. Indian Army official General Subrata Saha said that defence forces and National Disaster Rescue Force (NDRF) teams are working together in relief and rescue operations.
