Congress and BJP express contradictory views over Omar Abdullah's appreciation on Modi's foreign pol

New Delhi, Nov 27 (ANI): Congress and BJP on Thursday expressed contradictory views after Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his foreign diplomacy. Abdullah had said that Prime Minister has done well as far as maintaining relations with foreign countries is concerned. He minister went on to say that PM Modi has done a good job in reaching out to country's immediate neighbours. Congress leader Manish Tewari said that the JandK chief minister should carefully watch the developments with foreign countries in past six months and he will then come to notice that there are no developments so far. Meanwhile, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that the whole world is appreciating PM Modi for his works and that Abdullah's appreciation is nothing surprising. New Delhi/Lucknow/Hyderabad, Nov 27 (ANI): Politicos reacted on Thursday after CBI in its report stated that it has found no evidence of murder or sexual assault in its probe into the death of two teenage cousins whose bodies were found hanging from a tree in Badaun district of Uttar Pradesh and claimed that the two girls had committed suicide. BJP's UP unit President Laxmikant Bajpai said that the government should look into the reports. Congress leader Manish Tewari said that the court will look into the CBI report and give its verdict. He added that SP, which itself did not do so in the past, can only create controversy. Australia batsman Phillip Hughes dies from head injury

Sydney, Nov 27 (ANI): Australian cricketer Phillip Hughes passed away on Thursday as he succumbed to injuries that he had suffered when struck by a bouncer at the SCG on Tuesday. The 25-year-old South Australian batsman, who was pushing for a Test recall against India in Brisbane next week, was knocked out after the ball made impact under his helmet, behind his left ear. Hughes collapsed on the pitch before being rushed to Sydney's St Vincent's Hospital. He underwent emergency surgery and was put in an induced coma but never regained consciousness. Badaun Case: CBI reportedly says girls committed suicide

New Delhi/ Badaun, Nov 27 (ANI): After a five-month probe in the infamous Badaun case, the CBI has reportedly claimed that the two teenage sisters had allegedly committed suicide, putting to rest all speculation that the duo was gang-raped and murdered. The Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics, which conducted the forensic analysis, had already ruled out sexual assault on the victims. All five suspects already passed lie-detection and psychological tests done by the forensic experts. Meanwhile the Chairperson of Delhi Commission for Women Barkha Shukla Singh said that the CBI should revisit reports and culprits must be punished. The incident had come to light on May 28 when the bodies of two cousins - aged 14 and 15 years old - were found hanging from a tree in a village in UP's Badaun district, sparking a nation-wide outrage. Jammu, Nov 27 (ANI): Indian army's top official said intelligence inputs suggested that militants along the Line of Control (LoC) and hinterland were trying to disrupt the ongoing election process in Kashmir. General Officer Commanding 16 Corps Lieutenant General KH Singh said that the activities are being carried on with the sole intention of disturbing the ongoing polls in the state. Singh also said that the army is fully equipped and prepared to deal with any such activities along the international border. People risk their lives crossing the bridge by holding on to the steel ropes of the destroyed bridge. The villagers said that more than three months on, the bridge has not been repaired. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced 5.7 billion rupees in assistance for housing and 1.8 billion rupees to fix six major hospitals in the state that are in poor condition and need immediate federal support.
