Police rescue bonded labourers from brick kiln in Mirzapur

Gaya, Dec 05 (ANI): Nearly 149 bonded labourers, including women and children, rescued from a brick kiln in Uttar Pradesh, were brought to their home district in Bihar. Police rescued them from a brick kiln in Mirzapur district and were brought to Gaya district by the Bihar government. They would be sent to their native villages. The government assured that action would be taken against those involved in the crime. More than 12 million children below the age of 14 are working as domestic servants or other jobs such as in stone quarries, embroidery units, mining, carpet-weaving, tea stalls, restaurants and hotels, according to the government data. New Delhi, Dec 5 (ANI): Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 104.72 points down to stand at 28,458.10. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 26.10 points down to stand at 8,538.30. PIIND and NCC were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 15.56% and 12.67% along with PIPAVAVDOC and MONSANTO INDIA LTD. with an increase of 9.99% and 7.12% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include SIEMENS and RTNPOWER with a decrease 5.15% and 4.56% along with IDEA and SUZLON with a decrease of 4.25% and 4.20% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is down 13.35 points at 19,350.30 while the banking sector is down 19.87 points at 21,481.61 and the reality sector is up 19.71 points at 1,712.20. JP Nadda seeks report over blinding of 16 people in Punjab eye camp

New Delhi/Amritsar, Dec 5 (ANI): Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda on Friday sought report from Punjab government over the blinding of 16 people in an eye camp. As many as 16 patients lost their eyesight after a doctor used suspected infected equipment at a free eye surgery camp, organised by a NGO in Gurdaspur district. Nadda assured Punjab government to render any help from the central government. Reacting over the incident, state Medical Education Minister Anil Joshi said that organisers had no permission to conduct an eye camp.
