Popular home grown smartphone maker, Micromax has released a budget smartphone dubbed Canvas Beat in India via online store.
The new Micromax phone initially made its global debut way back in January, when the company for the first time set foot in the Russian market. It sports 5.0-inch qHD (960 x 540p) IPS display and ships with Android v4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS, 1GB RAM, 4GB inbuilt memory, 1.2GHz quad-core CPU (Broadcom) and is powered by 1,900 mAh battery which can run the phone for 5 hours of talk time and 150 hours under standby time.
Other stipulated features include 8.0-megapixel main camera with LED flash, a 2.0-megapixel snapper on the front for video-chatting and it features 3G (download-speed 21 Mbps & Upload-speed 5.76Mbps) network support, Bluetooth (with A2DP), Wi-Fi, micro-USB v2.0 and GPRS/EDGE.)

Micromax Canvas Beat is currently available at Home Shop 18 for ₹9,499 and will be up against its own Windows Phone OS powered sibling Canvas Win W121, newly launched Nokia XL, Lumia 630, HTC Desire 310, Xolo Q700s and other local brands.
Besides Canvas Beat, Micromax has also launched an entry-level handset Unite A092 in India for 6,490, which is probably released to compete with the popular Motorola phone Moto E. It sports 4.0-inch WVGA (800 x 480p) display and runs on the Android v4.3 Jelly Bean OS powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor backed by 1GB RAM and 8GB inbuilt memory (expandable up to 32GB). Versatile Micromax which holds the tag of top domestic smartphone in India is lately facing threat from MNC brands (especially Motorola) which have cracked the formula to sell feature-rich devices with a competitive price tags, which until now were the main forte of local vendors.
