Asus Zenfone 2 Set for India Release in Q2 2015: Report

Taiwanese consumer electronics major Asus is reportedly planning to release the new Zenfone 2 series smartphone in India in a couple of month's time.

Taiwanese consumer electronics major Asus is reportedly planning to release the new Zenfone 2 series smartphone in India in a couple of month's time.

Asus (South Asia & Country Manager) regional head Peter Changwhile that Zenfone 2 will be released in India around April 2015.

"ZenFone 2, you will see in Q2. ZenFone Zoom might be later, maybe Q3," Business Today quoted Chang as saying.

Asus Zenfone 2 features a 5.5-inch full HD IPS display and runs on the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS with custom ZenUI out-of-the-box.

Under the hood, it houses 64-bit class Intel Atom CPU, sumptuous 4GB RAM, 13mp main camera, 5mp snapper on the front and a 3,000mAh battery.

On the other hand, the camer-centric smartphone - ZenFone Zoom - too flaunts a similar 5.5-inch full HD display and as the name suggests, it boasts of 13mp camera with a OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation), 3X optical zoom, 10-element lens which can further add 12X digital zoom for even finer close-up detail. It also boasts the laser auto-focus technology, which was first seen on LG G3.

For the uninitiated, this advanced auto-focus technology measures the distance between the subject and the camera using a laser beam enabling quick capture of good quality photos even under low-light conditions

Other key specifications of the ZenFone Zoom such as RAM capacity, storage, battery details are still under wraps. These details are said to be revealed during local launches.
