Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is all geared to kick-start the Redmi Note 4G flash sale in India on 30 December.
Company's official e-commerce affiliate Flipkart will begin Redmi Note 4G sale on Tuesday at 2pm. However, there is no word on how many units will be up for grabs and also whether Xiaomi has any plans of releasing Redmi 1S again to the Indian market.
It has to be noted that Xiaomi has been granted to sell Snapdragon powered devices (Redmi Note 4G & Redmi 1S) only till 8 January; this means, there will one more flash sale next week on 6 January. So with very limited time, Xiaomi has to begin separate flash sale outlet to sell the Redmi 1S similar to last month, when Redmi Note 3G was sold once weekly on Tuesday, whereas Redmi 1S was sold like any other smartphone on Flipkart without any formality of registration process.
Xiaomi- Ericsson patent infringement case recap:
Early this month, Delhi high court had passed an interim order temporarily suspending the sales of all Xiaomi phone models in India over infringing Ericsson (Telefonaktiebolaget LM) patents.
Later, after hearing Xiaomi's reply, the court partially lifted the ban till 8 January 2015 on select Xiaomi models housing Qualcomm Snapdragon devices, provided the Chinese company deposits ₹100 for every device sold in India.
