Popular Chinese smartphone maker is all geared up to go for the fifth Xiaomi Mi3 flash sale in India on 19 August.

The company has confirmed via official Facebook page that the Tuesday's Xiaomi Mi3 flash sale will have 20,000 units up for grabs at Flipkart 2:00 pm noon and it has received more than 75,000 registrations from prospective consumers.

So far Xiaomi has reportedly sold close to 55,000 units in previous four flash sales, spanning over four weeks. Except 22 July sale, other three flash sale reportedly got over in few seconds.[Read full report, here & here]

Though the company was ecstatic about the overwhelming response from the public, many fans were disappointed over the limited availability of stocks and now Tuesday's sale is expected to have a repetition of virtual stampede.

And add to that, users have to register at the online store, Flipkart, to make themselves eligible to purchase Xiaomi Mi 3, with no guarantee that they can get their hands on the device.

Rival Asus too has joined the race to announce that the company will be selling 20,000 units of the popular Zenfone 5 series smartphones on Monday, 18 August at Flipkart for ₹10,000 with 10 percent cash-back offer to State Bank of India account holders.

Asus has has reportedly sold to close to 40,000 units in four days and is expected to reach 1,00,000 sales (all Zenfone series including 4, 5 and 6) soon, reported The Indian Express citing Peter Chang, Regional Head for South Asia & Country Manager for ASUS India.

Unlike Xiaomi, Asus has not introduced any registration process as such to buy the Zenfone 5; any consumer can just go to Flipkart and purchase the device directly. [Interested buyers, click here]

For the uninitiated, Zenfone 5 sports a 5.0-inch HD (1,280x720p) IPS display and is powered by a 1.6GHz dual-core Intel Atom CPU, backed by Android v4.3 Jelly Bean (upgradable to v4.4 KitKat) OS, sumptuous 2GB RAM, and 8GB inbuilt storage (expandable up to 64GB).

On the other hand, Xiaomi Mi3 costs ₹13,999 and boasts of 5.0-inch full HD display, 2.3GHz Snapdragon CPU, Android v4.4.2 KitKat (with custom MIUI), full HD display (440 ppi) with Gorilla Glass 3 shield, Aluminum-Magnesium alloy frame and many more feature-rich specifications.
