Earlier on Tuesday (5 August), Xiaomi Mi3 went on for its third flash sale and the response from the public was so overwhelming that, it shattered the 29 July's record sale speed.
On 29 July, Xiaomi phone got sold out in 5 seconds time; but on Tuesday the company ran out of Mi3 stocks in just 2 seconds. Xiaomi updated regarding this on the company's official Facebook page, thanking the fans for the tremendous response, but most of registered consumers who could not order the phone did not find it amusing and took to Twitter to troll Xiaomi with funny memes.
Many fans called the company's stupendous record sale, a gimmick to create false demand and hype.
Here are some of the comments floating around Twitter:

Xiaomi's marketing strategy of selling the devices in small batches has worked wonders in China, as the four year old company has toppled the global smartphone leader, Samsung in the home country, in this year's second quarter (April-June), reported market watch dog, Canalys.
That's not all; Xiaomi, despite being operational in less than a handful of South Asian markets has been able to displace South Korean consumer electronics giant, LG off the top five global smartphone leaders' chart. Now, among the top five, only Samsung and Apple (placed one and two, respectively) are the only non-Chinese brands- others being Lenovo, Huawei and Xiaomi, reported Reuters, citing Strategy Analytics.
Beside the quirky marketing strategy, another reason for the company's super fast global ascension is the fact that the feature devices, they sell are extremely cheap, leading huge success in emerging markets like China and India.
If all things fall in place, Xiaomi will soon enter Indonesia by this month end and later in company's Vice-president (global operation), Hugo Barra's home country Brazil, probably by next year, reported The Wall Street Journal.
For the uninitiated, Xiaomi Mi3 costs just ₹13,999 and sports a 5.0-inch full HD display, 2.3GHz Snapdragon CPU, Android v4.4.2 KitKat (with custom MIUI), full HD display (440 ppi) with Gorilla Glass 3 shield, Aluminum-Magnesium alloy frame and many more feature-rich specifications.
Xiaomi's official e-commerce partner, Flipkart has opened the fresh registration window for users to make themselves eligible for the purchase of Mi3, which is said to go on for a flash sale again on 12 August. Interested buyers, click here.
