Chinese smartphone maker Oppo is reportedly planning to release the ultra-slim R5 in India later this month.
Technology blog, AndroidOS.in has claimed that Oppo Electronics will release the much awaited super-thin R5 smartphone this month, priced between ₹25,000 and ₹30,000.
The company has initiated a promotional campaign – "ScanvegeR5: Spot the R5. Win the R5 "- on its official Facebook page. Lucky winners stand a chance to win 3 Oppo R5 units and 9 VOOC power banks. [More Information, HERE]
However, there is no word on whether the company will release the Oppo N3, which was unveiled along with R5 in late October.
In an interview with PTI earlier, the company had announced the imminent launch of both the models.

Now, it looks like the Oppo N3 might be released a little later, probably next month.
For the uninitiated, Oppo R5 measures just 4.85 mm in thickness. It held the world record for being the slimmest phone briefly for a few weeks. Early this week, it got beaten by Vivo X5 Max, which measures just 4.75 mm.

Other stipulated features of Oppo R5 include- 5.2-inch full HD (1920x1080p) AMOLED screen with Gorilla Glass 3 shield, 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 series Octa-core processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt memory, 13.0-megapixel main camera, 5.0-megapixel snapper on the front and a 2000 mAh battery.
On the other hand, Oppo N3 sports the same design language seen in its predecessor, but comes incorporated with a major upgrade in terms of internal hardware, which includes motorized swiveling 206-degree 16-megapixel camera, which can act as both main and front snapper, according to the convenience of the user. It can also be operated by finger-print sensor on the rear-side as well as from a Bluetooth based O-Click camera accessory.
Stipulated specifications include 5.5-inch full HD display, 2.3GHz Snapdragon 801 series CPU, 2GB RAM, 32GB inbuilt memory (expandable up to 128GB) and a 3000 mAh battery.
