Chinese technology major Oppo Electronics Corp has reportedly confirmed that the newly announced flagship 16MP swiveling camera-phone N3 and ultra-slim R5 will set foot in India soon.
In an interview with the Press Trust of India, the company's CEO Tom Lu, without revealing specific timeline, said that the Oppo N3 and R5 will hit Indian stores by December.
One of the striking features of Oppo R5 is that it measures just a 4.85 mm in thickness, making it the slimmest smartphone in the world. It out-ranks the Gionee Elife S5.1, which up until now was holding the Guinness world record of being the thinnest handset in the market.
Other stipulated features include a 5.2-inch full HD (1920x1080p) AMOLED screen with Gorilla Glass 3 shield, 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 series Octa-core processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt memory, 13.0-megapixel main camera, 5.0-megapixel snapper on the front and a 2000 mAh battery.
On the other hand, Oppo N3 sports the same design language seen in its predecessor, but comes with major upgrade in terms of internal hardware, which includes motorized swiveling 206-degree 16-megapixel camera that can act as both main and front snapper, according to the convenience of the user. It can also be operated by finger-print sensor on the rear-side as well as from a Bluetooth based O-Click camera accessory.
Stipulated specifications include 5.5-inch full HD display, 2.3GHz Snapdragon 801 series CPU, 2GB RAM, 32GB inbuilt memory (expandable up to 128GB) and a 3000 mAh battery.
According to reports, Oppo N3 and R3 are priced $649 (around €510/₹40,000) and $499 (around €392/₹30,600) respectively and are said to go on sale in 20 regions (including India) by the end of December.
