World Chess Championship: Viswanathan Anand draws game seven against Magnus Carlsen

Chennai, Nov 19 (ANI): Indian grandmaster and defending champion, Viswanathan Anand was relieved as game seven against challenger Magnus Carlsen ended in a draw at World Chess Championship. Addressing a post-match conference, Anand said that he was unable to mount pressure on his opponent. Unperturbed by the draw, 22-year-old Carlsen said that he was still at an advantageous position as he retained his lead. The eighth match will be played on November 19. Nov 19, 2013

Viswanathan Anand loses fifth game to Magnus Carlsen at World Chess Championship

Chennai, Nov 16 (ANI): Norway's Magnus Carlsen credited his opening moves for victory over India's Viswanathan Anand in a gruelling fifth game of the ongoing World Chess Championship in Chennai on Friday. The fifth game went on for over five and a half hours. Anand was playing with black pieces while Carlsen had white. Carlsen is ahead of Anand by 3-2. Just 22, Carlsen is considered the favourite after beating Anand in their last encounter in June. Anand, 43, however, is unperturbed.
