Asarams judicial custody extended till Nov 6

Noida, Oct 26 (ANI): A Jodhpur Session court has extended judicial custody of self-styled godman Asaram till November 06. Asaram has been accused of rape, sexual assault and illegal confinement by two Surat-based sisters. He was arrested in August on the charge of sexually assaulting a minor girl and has been in prison at Jodhpur since then.

Bilateralism will ensure resolution of Indo-Pak issues: MEA

New Delhi, Oct 26 (ANI): After US dismissed Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's plea for an intervention on Kashmir issue, Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin said that only bilateralism can ensure resolution of all India-Pakistan issues and that this is accepted globally now. Maharashtra government involved in sugar scam: Medha Patkar

Pune, Oct 26 (ANI): Social activist, Medha Patkar has blamed the Maharashtra government for the poor condition of co-operative sugar factories saying it was involved in multi-billion sugar scam. Patkar alleged that a multi-billion scam has taken place in the co-operative sugar industry through the sale of 40 co-operative sugar factories to private firms in the state. Speaking to mediapersons, Patkar said that the politicians who are running the co-operative sugar factories first ensured that the factories turned 'sick' and later sold them to private firms run by their own men for a meagre amount. Patkar said the co-operative sector should survive and thrive in Maharashtra, as it has played an important role in the development of the state. Patkar said a high-level judicial probe should to be conducted.

Babulal Nagar claims innocence, denies charges of rape

Jaipur, Oct 26 (ANI): Former Rajasthan Minister Babulal Nagar, who has been arrested by the CBI, denied the charges of rape levelled against him by a 35-year-old woman. The CBI arrested Nagar on Friday on charges of raping and assaulting the woman. Earlier on October 9, the investigating agency took over the probe from Rajasthan Police, which had registered the case against Nagar.
