CPI (M) demands CBI enquiry against Mamata Banerjee & TMC leaders named by Ghosh

Kolkata, Nov 24 (ANI): After Suspended Trinamool Congress MP Kunal Ghosh named Mamata Banerjee and 12 other TMC leaders in the Saradha Group chit fund scam, CPI (M) leader Mohammed Salim demanded CBI enquiry against Banerjee and other leaders. He said that the whole investigation is a drama by the Bengal CM and that the arrest of Ghosh is a part of the same. He said that Ghosh was close to Banerjee and he was taken in party after he became the CEO of the Saradha Group.

Banswara, Nov 24 (ANI): Addressing a rally in poll bound Banswara district of Madhya Pradesh, BJP’s PM candidate Narendra Modi said that Congress is insensitive towards the ‘adivasi and poor’ section of the society and that they talk or work about them only in front of cameramen and not otherwise. Modi said that Congress is furiated that ‘how can poor get vegetables to eat when they have decided for them was hunger’. He also said that Congress never knew for years that ‘adivasis’ even existed and that these backward people for them are nothing more than just voters. Modi also accused Rahul Gandhi for having ‘photo sessions’ with the poor once in a month for election purpose.

Rural Housing Scheme successful in Maoist-affected Odisha

Gajapati, Nov 24 (ANI): Overcoming the fear of Maoists in Odisha, villagers in Gajapati district came out to avail the central government’s ‘Indira Awas Yojana’ (Rural housing scheme). It is noteworthy that Maoists have a stronghold in Gajapati district where welfare projects generally do not succeed due to Maoist influence. But, villagers are taking up the rural housing scheme in S. Kurlunda village of the district, willingly. Block development officer of the village N.C. Mishra said that financial assistance has been provided to the people to construct houses.

To hide one lie they are telling 100 lies: Kirti Azad on AAP

New Delhi, Nov 24 (ANI): A day after Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia revealed that he has received a message from someone saying Rs 12 crore were given for the sting operations, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Kirti Azad on Sunday said that to hide one lie they are telling 100 lies. The sting, carried out by media organisation mediasarkar.com, was released on Thursday and showed AAP leaders, including Shazia Ilmi, candidate from south Delhi's RK Puram, accepting donations without proper verification days before the December 4 Delhi Assembly polls.

Snooping Row: BJP defends Narendra Modi

New Delhi, Nov 24 (ANI): Responding to the allegations by suspended IAS official Pradeep Sharma on BJP's PM candidate Narendra Modi and his aide Amit Shah over the snooping row, BJP leader Kirti Azad said that it is a conspiracy by the Congress. Azad said that the Congress has tried everything on Narendra Modi through their dirty tricks department. He also said that they are trying to malign the BJP and will find new allegations also, rather than discussing issues like, corruption, inflation, economic crisis and infiltration at borders.

Geneva, Nov 24 (ANI): Iran and six world powers reached a breakthrough deal early on Sunday to curb Tehran's nuclear programme in exchange for limited sanctions relief, in what could be the first sign of an emerging rapprochement between the Islamic state and the West. Aimed at ending a dangerous standoff, the agreement between Iran and the United States, France, Germany, Britain, China and Russia was nailed down after more than four days of negotiations in the Swiss city of Geneva.

Results of UN climate talks not satisfying, but acceptable: Chinese official

Warsaw, Nov 24 (ANI): The two-week UN climate negotiations, which aimed to pave the way for a new global climate pact due to be agreed in 2015, came to an end more than 20 hours into extra time on Saturday. China, the world's biggest emitter of carbon dioxide, and India (No. 4) had clashed with the US (No. 2) and other countries earlier Saturday over the wording of draft decisions with guidelines on when countries should present commitments for a new pact to fight climate change. Delegates ultimately adopted an altered text agreed to during added emergency negotiations in the Warsaw National Stadium to avert a breakdown of the UN climate talks.

Top police brass meets in Gaya, discuss strategies to combat Maoists

Gaya, Nov 24 (ANI): Senior police officials conducted a high-level meeting in Gaya district of Bihar to discuss strategies and foster better coordination to wipe out Naxalism from the state. Police as well as paramilitary personnel attended the meet during which officials discussed and deliberated on the ways to combat the rebels to lead to fruitful results. The Maoists, who say they are fighting for the rights of the poor and landless, control some of India's mineral-rich areas and operate in large swathes of the eastern, central and southern countryside.

Princess of Belgium visits India to strengthen bilateral relation

New Delhi, Nov 24 (ANI): Princess of Belgium Astrid is visiting New Delhi with a 300-member business delegation to boost trade ties with India. The visit aims to strengthen the relationship with India in diverse sectors, particularly trade and investment. Police arrest suspended TMC leader Kunal Ghosh in Sharda Chit Fund scam

Kolkata, Nov 24 (ANI): Police have arrested suspended TMC lawmaker Kunal Ghosh in West Bengal for his alleged role and conspiracy in the state's multi-billion Sharda chit fund scam. The deputy commissioner added that Ghosh has been charged with IPC sections of 420 cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property, 406 (criminal breach of trust) and 120B conspiracy. Meanwhile, a leader of India's regional Trinamool Congress party, Derek O' Brien said that law should take its course.
