Gumla, Feb 2 (ANI): The police in Gumla district of Jharkhand have arrested two men for having connections with the People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI), a Maoist outfit. Speaking to the mediaperson, the superintendent of police, Rakesh Bansal, said that the accused were planning a burglary and following a tip-off, they were arrested. The men, who are in their youth, were arrested on charges of being couriers to other Maoists in the area. Maoists are rebels who try to sink deep roots and form links after decades of neglect. The Maoists, who say they are fighting for the rights of the poor and landless, control some of India's mineral-rich areas and operate in large swathes of the eastern, central and southern countryside.
