Khaleda Zia makes outrageous claim, says 300 killed and disappeared in a month

Dhaka/ New Delhi, Feb 16 (ANI): Bangladesh general elections, marred by violence, left many people dead in clashes between opposition supporters and police, which started since the polls opened. Thousands of protesters firebombed polling stations and stole ballot papers as deadly violence flared across the nation during the election phase, which was boycotted by the main opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its allies. Resting on the same, BNP Chief Khaleda Zia accused the newly-formed Awami League government for the killing and disappearance of 300 activists of the BNP during the elections in January. Zia also hailed the party’s decision to boycott the polls.

Visually Impaired participate in car rally in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad, Feb 16 (ANI): The 18th edition of Ahmedabad Round Table car rally saw a total of 120 cars rolling out on the city streets with unique teams of driver and a visually challenged navigator embarking on an 80-kilometer journey in and around the city. The organizers said that a message is given through these programmes that societal support should be given to disabled people. During the rally, the participants used a route map in Braille and guided the drivers to navigate. Meanwhile, a participant Bhawesh Soni, said the rally gave a boost to their morale.

Bikers express solidarity, rally against racial discrimination

Bangalore, Feb 16 (ANI): Riders in Bangalore on Sunday held a bike rally to express solidarity for deceased northeast student Nido Tania, who was beaten up mercilessly in New Delhi, and protested against racial discrimination. Maoists release abducted official in Ranchi

Ranchi, Feb 16 (ANI): Maoists on Sunday released abducted official in Ranchi amid strong pressure from the administration. An engineer who was working for Siddhartha Construction Company was abducted from Bundu area near Ranchi by Maoists on February 13. Engineer Pankaj Kumar was supervising construction of a bridge, which comes under the ambit of Ranchi police administration. The superintendent of police of rural Ranchi, Surendra Jha, said that the main priority of police was to bring back the abducted engineer safely.
