Residents panic as Pakistan Army violates ceasefire in Kashmir

RS Pura, Aug 13 (ANI): Pakistani army violated ceasefire in R.S. Pura district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, making it the fourth incident of heavy firing in the last five days. The neighbouring country's troops fired at India's paramilitary Border Security Force (BSF) officials and villagers staying in Arnia town along the international border. The villagers were petrified at the fire exchange that took place at around 3.00 a.m. The firing came in after Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused Pakistan of indulging in proxy war with India. Kozhikode, Aug 13 (ANI): Young athlete from Kerala, Tintu Luka, has been nominated for Arjuna Award for outstanding achievements in sports. A selection committee led by former cricket captain Kapil Dev recommended Luka and 14 others for India's second highest sports prize that is given by the sports ministry. 25-year-old Luka is the youngest among all the sportspersons nominated for the award and is a national record holder in the women's 800-metre race. Dhaka, Aug 13 (ANI): Supporters of youth wing of Bangladesh's ruling Awami League, Jubo League recently participated in a mourning procession ahead of the 40th death anniversary of the founding father, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, who was assassinated during an army coup in 1975 along with his family members. Jubo League supporters came out in droves in Dhaka and marched on to the streets. Mujibur, or Mujib as he was popularly called, was killed along with most of the members of his family in a 1975 revolt by young army officers. One of his two surviving daughters, Sheikh Hasina, is now the country's prime minister. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina set up the war crimes tribunal in 2010 to investigate abuses during the 1971 war.
