South Korean consumer electronics giant, Samsung has reportedly put Tizen powered Gear S smartwatch up for pre-order in India.
Prospective consumers can book Gear S smart wearable at the company's official eStore with a down-payment of ₹1,000. The remaining amount has to be paid, once the device is available at the store.
Samsung Gear S is priced ₹28,900 (MRP), which was officially announced during the Galaxy Note 4 launch event in New Delhi on 14 October.
For the uninitiated, Samsung's new smartwatch flaunts a big 2.0-inch curved super AMOLED screen and runs on the company's proprietary wearable platform Tizen.
One striking feature of Gear S is that it can act as a standalone calling device with being connected to smartphone. It is compatible with 2G/3G network and can also take calls from the companion smartphone via Bluetooth with the ability to switch between two networks.
Other notable specifications include IP67 dust-and-water resistant certifications, heart-rate sensor, UV sensor and Nokia's HERE navigation app (provides turn-by-turn guide).
